Join us for a series of Workshops in collaboration with ADHD Babes

Calling all Black Women and Non-binary folk,

I’m thrilled to be collaborating with ADHD Babes and Zviko Mutyambizi, supported by UFFC, to bring you a series of Art workshops focused on well-being. Join us at one of the afternoon events below to explore and create with like-minded individuals.

Facilitators:

Birungi Kawooya, I am a well-being researcher, artist and creative facilitator inspired by nature, Black feminisms and Afro somatic movement. I make art installations, and sculptures and use natural fibres and batik indigenous to Uganda. I love to deliver Mindful African Art workshops to stimulate imagining liberation. I am currently exhibiting “A Space for Resistance and Renewal”, a trio of bark cloth structures that provide a gathering place for rest, repair and resistance.

My name is Zviko Mutyambizi . I have mainly been a support group facilitator and peer-led journalling and body doubling host with ADHDBABES. I am also an artist trying new mediums and hoping to bring the spirit of learning together and having conviction in our creative intuitions to the workshop.

Workshop Dates:

Saturday 29 March 2.30-5 pm

Experimental Embroidery Doodling Workshop - An exercise in taking small steps towards confidence rather than seeking perfection, using art as a rehearsal for life. Lead by Birungi Kawooya supported by Zviko Mutyambizi.

Saturday 5 April 2.30-5 pm

Small Object Workshop - Making a small object out of card and mixed fabrics. Maybe to add to a keychain, with textures, colours and patterns that might focus, comfort, affirm and ground when carried out and about. Lead by Zviko Mutyambizi supported by Birungi Kawooya.

Location:
